Oil Boiler Servicing
Having your boiler serviced once a year gives you the best possible chance of spotting faults before they become breakdowns – minor faults or degrading parts can be replaced before they potentially fail. It may also be a requirement to keep your guarantee valid – and if you’re a landlord it may be a legal safety requirement too!
Remember that you should only allow OFTEC qualified Engineers to carry out an oil boiler service.
What does a boiler service include?
The boiler service can take up to 1.5 hours on older boilers and less time on newer boilers. This will include carrying out a full service to the manufacturer’s service guidelines, checking and replacing any oil filters, carrying out a flue gas analysis to set the boiler back up to the manufacturer’s instructions and completing the service paperwork, with any recommendations.
When Should you do it?
Getting your boiler serviced in the summer is normally the best time of year – engineers like me are usually less busy, and you get ahead of the game before it’s time to turn the heating on. Trying to get an appointment at the beginning of winter, when everybody else is doing the same, can mean that you’re a little colder than usual, for a little longer!
Oil Boiler Breakdown Repairs
Boiler breakdowns happen. Even if you have your boiler serviced every year your boiler can still break down and its always at the most inconvenient time possible.
There are lots of components on boilers that cannot be serviced – from control boxes to thermostats. We aim to carry as much as possible in stock to get your boiler up and running as soon as possible. Hopefully the same day and in a single visit.
Not all parts can be held in stock due to the sheer number. If a part is not in stock it can be ordered for delivery the next day, before 10 am, to get you up and running again as soon as possible.
Terms and conditions and additional charges may apply for specific delivery times and weekend deliveries. There may also be slower delivery around weekends, bank holidays and seasonal holidays.
Oil Boiler Replacement
If your oil boiler has come to the end of its life and has become uneconomical to repair, has started to leak from the main boiler jacket or you just want a new and more efficient boiler I can help.
Whether you have an indoor or outdoor boiler we’ll possibly need to add some extra components to your heating system to make sure it meets the current building regulations and any manufacturer requirements for extended warranties. Its also advisable to have your heating system powerflushed to remove any debris from the system, so it doesn’t get in to your new boiler and cause potential problems.
This can all be discussed during an onsite visit to determine your needs and requirements.
Boiler Relocation
I can relocate your boiler and install a boiler outside. An outdoor boiler is designed to stand up to the British weather and is fully watertight against the elements.
This can be a good option if you want to free up space in your home. It also removes the need to have an oil line within the property and removes the risk of any carbon monoxide making its way indoors.
